About the Artist

I am Swati Shah & was introduced to this fabulous art by my mother who is herself very creative and artistic.

I took my first henna lessons at age 12 as a summer vacation activity.

Henna then was a hobby, with me decorating the hands of my friends and relatives on occasions & festivals.

My hobby transformed into profession after I moved to Bay Area from Mumbai, India in 2009.

That's how Henna Traditions has started.

My love for Indian intricate designs has grown over the years, with Bridal and wedding henna designs being very close to my heart.

In my 10 years of being in the Wedding industry, i have met some of the most wonderful, kind and loving people and some of the most sweetest brides. Being a part of someone's special occasion is an emotion i cannot describe.

My henna paste is made from 100% natural Henna powder, tamarind juice/lemon juice and essential oils. I do not use "Black Henna", as it is dangerous for skin.

I currently provide services in and around the Bay area (San Fransisco, San Jose, Sunnyvale, Fremont, Cupertino, Los Altos, Los Gatos, Milpitas, Santa Clara, Millbrae, Burlingame, San Mateo, Pleasanton, San Ramon, Walnut Creek, Carmel, Monterey, Napa, Sonoma & surrounding areas).
